Tour History
St.Petersburg October 13 — 22, 2005
My name is Julia. I live in St. Petersburg and I participated with Anastasia tours before (I worked as an interpreter at the socials). This time I was asked to work as a tour assistant. I’d like to say that the event exceeded my expectations. I used to communicate to a lot of Americans because of my previous job but Anastasia tour customers were different. They came to Russia with different purposes.
St. Petersburg was the last stop of Early Fall tour season. The guys thought girls here are not such emotional and temperament as in Odessa or even Moscow and it would be better to start their journey from “cold places” to “hot” places. But I had such a feeling that in the long run everybody enjoyed the trip. Most of the guys were really nice, very friendly and some of them made fun of everything they saw, so that we, assistant from Moscow Olga and me, laughed every time we talked to them.
Despite of raining almost all the time (the weather in St. Petersburg changes quickly) guys looked cheerful and happy showing us bright Hollywood smiles. There was another reason they smiled. Women! Some of the men who covered all three tours brought ladies they met in Moscow and had a wonderful time in a beautiful city with the women they were attracted to.
There were guys who were still looking for someone special. It is not such an easy task and sometimes it takes a lot of time and to distinguish this person from many of others. I think almost everyone managed to find a girl at least for going out and enjoyed the time they spent together. One guy met a girl at the socials. I found it very romantic and sentimental how their relations developed. We thought that a general recommendation for tour participants could be: try to choose someone who is most pleasant for you and to keep an eye on this person, so that there would be more chances to have serious relationship in future. Although, I realize the risk you take concentrating just on one person. At the same time some guys felt free to have up to three dates a day. That is another strategy – to meet with as many ladies as possible. Some guys tried blind dates and I should to say it worked a couple times.
Sometimes guys asked us for advice, how to start conversation with this or that lady, how to drop a hint so that she didn’t feel offended, the reason being difference in mentality and cultures. We did our best to help the guys to understand Russian women’s inner world. The gentlemen coped with this task taking into account the number of dates and some success stories.
Hospitality room was full of people only during the first two days. Some tour participants came to the hospitality suite and told us stories about life in the States and Australia. The men would say that all the legends and myths about Russian women (that they are very beautiful and hardworking) are true. They found girls in St. Petersburg to be very intelligent and pretty.
Americans enjoyed the sites of St. Petersburg very much and they wished the weather was better. We had a great time going out as a group at night. In the end of the tour I felt we became close friends and my eyes were wet when I had to say “Goodbye!” in the airport. I still keep touch with some of the tour participants and they say a lot of nice words about Russia and Anastasia. Thank you Anastasia for this experience!
